Existing undersized culvert clogged with debris.
| | The North Santiam Watershed Council (NSWC) retained RDG to complete a culvert replacement design for the Hatch Airport Project. Additional work tasks included a fish habitat assessment and improvement design, invasive plant species removal, and revegetation plan. RDG used a hydraulic model developed by WEST Consultants, Inc. to evaluate existing and proposed side channel conditions. From 2007 to 2008, RDG replaced three undersized culverts with zero-slope culverts. Large wood structures were also placed in both the sidechannel and a floodplain pond to increase juvenile rearing habitat. An invasive species removal project and revegetation plan will be implemented in 2009.
