| | RDG collaborated with a team of consultants to design and implement a restoration plan for 3,500 feet of the Jocko River impacted from straightening and downcutting for flood control. The restoration strategy focused on restoring channel-floodplain connectivity by constructing a new channel at the historical channel elevation. RDG performed a flood risk assessment for existing and proposed conditions and provided engineering support for the design of channel and streambank stabilization structures. In addition, RDG prepared the construction plan set and provided construction management services. In 2005, the newly constructed project encumbered a 25-year flood event and experienced minimal damage. RDG continues to provide engineering services in support of ongoing restoration activities on the Jocko River.
