The right wing of Gold Hill Dam.
| | RDG and Slayden Construction Group assisted the Rogue Valley Council of Governments with the dam removal design, permitting, and deconstruction of Gold Hill Dam on the Rogue River in 2008. Gold Hill Dam was considered the second highest fish passage priority on the Rogue River after Savage Rapids Dam. Approximately 800 cubic yards of concrete were removed using multiple excavators affixed with hydraulic hammers. Project area containment, fish salvage, and an expedited construction schedule were necessary to achieve permit requirements. Chinook, steelhead, and coho populations are expected to benefit from the dam removal.
